In 1924, 1925 and 1926, Rainer Maria Rilke, one of the most important poets of modern literature, spent several months in Bad Ragaz. He accepted an invitation from his old patroness, Princess Marie von Thurn und Taxis, who used to stay at the "Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz". "Being here is wonderful", wrote Rainer Maria Rilke during a stay in Bad Ragaz.
