Pizol Summit Tour

The Pizol peak rises majestically to 2,844 m above sea level. The alpine route leads past the famous Wildsee lake, along the remains of the Pizol glacier up to the summit.

The first highlight of the hike is the Wildseeluggen. There, an impressive view of the well-known turquoise-blue Wildsee opens up in front of the striking mountain range with the majestic Pizol peak at 2,844 m above sea level. The ascent is adventurous, with exposed sections and steel ropes as handrails. Once at the top, we experience the second highlight. The view from the summit to the Pizol glacier and the surrounding mountains is breathtaking.

The Pizol is a massive block peak with two summit points separated by a small notch. The higher south summit bears a small summit cross with a summit book. The first documented ascent was made by Emil Frey-Gessner on August 15, 1864.

4 Summit Tour on the Pizol

The Pizol area is known for its breathtaking panoramic views over the St. Gallen Rhine valley to Lake Constance. Nowhere can you enjoy the view as undisturbed as on the highest peaks of the hiking area. The hike to the Pizol summit is part of the 4 summit tour on the Pizol. The stages Garmil, Gamidauerspitz, Hochwart and Pizol can all be hiked independently, but can also be combined as desired.

The Berghotel Gaffia is the ideal overnight accommodation and starting point for this tour, especially for combinations of the 4 summit tour.
