Trail Geissenweg

This hike runs along old alpine paths, goat trails, wild mountain streams, quiet forests and secluded resting places.

It is a short hike from the middle station Maienberg of the Pizol railways and it can be enjoyed almost the whole year through.

Route: Middle station Maienberg (Wangs) - Hosangg - Geissgass - Weidbünte - Gaspurweg - Gartinis - Maienberg (optional with additional loop Schönbühl / Valeis)

It is recommended that walkers approach the hike in a clockwise direction. The hike also offers an insight into the way our ancestors used to live and the working conditions on the Alps. The route is marked throughout with the colours of the Wangs coat of arms: blue-yellow-blue. In the middle section, "Hosangg", the route is secured through the "white wall" with a steel cable. Other than that, there are no specific difficult aspects to the route. The ascent through the Geissgass is a bit steep, but always easy to walk along. Quality hiking boots with a good grip are recommended. If you have any doubts, please contact: Infoline 081 300 48 20.

Arrival: 8-seater gondola from Wangs to middle station Maienberg.
