Paraglider
The Pizol region is impressive both in the summer and winter, with a difference in altitude of 1,800 metres and four official launch sites: Pizolhütte, Laufböden, Gaffia and Furt.
At the start heading south from Laufböden, the gliders have to navigate around the mountain to reach the landing site in the Rhine Valley.
If the Alpine farmland is not disturbed, paragliders can start at any site that is suitable in the summer. But in the winter, only the two official launch sites of Pizolhütte and Laufböden can be used, so as not to interfere with the skiing.
When gliders want to cross the valley, for example, from Falknis to Gonzen, the airspaces of Bad Ragaz Airfield (SG) and Balzers Heliport (FL) must be respected.
Pilots can download a detailed description of the flight area around the Pizol, including wildlife zones, restricted zones and cable cars.
