Camping (incl. wild camping, bivouacking)
Camping and bivouacking by individuals and small groups in the great outdoors is permitted or not prohibited in most places in the canton of St.Gallen. Camping is not allowed in the federal hunting ban area, in nature reserves and in other areas that are protected according to the communal protection ordinance. You can find more information here.
For camping / bivouacking for several days, the permission of the land or forest owner must be obtained. For simple bivouacking this is usually not necessary. The responsible district forester or the land registry office can give you information. The district forester also knows the sensitive areas.
From Wildseeluggen to Schottensee there is a hunting ban area. Camping and bivouacking is strictly forbidden there! Controls are carried out and offenders will be fined.
On the Pizol you are in the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona. Please leave the nature without land damage and garbage.
At the valley station of the gondola lift Bad Ragaz, there is a motorhome parking lot available.
Charging stations for e-bikes
We offer you wallbe charging stations at the following locations:
- Panoramarestaurant Edelweiss, at the bike stand next to the playground
- Bad Ragaz valley station, at the bike stand next to the Gondelbar
- Wangs valley station
Charging cables are available from the following suppliers: Shimano, Bosch, Specialized
You can get the charging cable at the ticket office in Bad Ragaz and Wangs or at the Panoramarestaurant Edelweiss. We provide you with the cables (and of course the power) free of charge, however, we need an ID or passport as a deposit.

Children's Fun Park
During the winter season there is a children's area with conveyor belt of the Pizol Ski School on Pardiel. On Sundays the Kinderland is open to the public from 10:00 - 15:00. A ski instructor is on site to supervise the children on the conveyor belt. The use is free of charge. All you need is a mountain cableway ticket for the Bad Ragaz - Pardiel gondola.
D
Dogs
Dogs are allowed in the gondolas and on the chairlifts, but they must not endanger any person. On the chairlift the dog must be kept on a leash.
Every dog owner is obliged to pick up the "business" of his animal and dispose of it properly.
Dogs under 30 cm shoulder height travel free of charge on the Pizol (analogous to SBB). For larger dogs a ticket is required, a day ticket for CHF 5.00 or an annual pass for CHF 65.00. The dog GA of the SBB is not valid.
In a skiing and hiking area, the respective dog regulations of the municipality and the forest and game protection zones apply. In the municipality of Vilters-Wangs there is a general leash obligation for dogs. The toboggan run on the Pizol runs through a protected area. Please keep your dog on a leash while sledding. The Pizolbahnen decline liability for sledders with dogs. For safety reasons, dogs are not tolerated on the ski slopes.
Drones
Drones produce unpleasant noise and disturb nature accordingly. Especially in quiet ecosystems, drones can cause stress to animals and disturb quiet-seeking hikers. Skiers are distracted. Therefore, we ask you to reduce the use of drones to a minimum or to do without them altogether.
On the Pizol there are restrictions on the use of drones due to hunting bans, the Bad Ragaz airfield and the Balzers heliport. An up-to-date map is available from the Federal Office of Civil Aviation FOCA.

Jetzt sei man wieder gut unterwegs. Der ehemalige Bündner Grossrat Leo Jeker – er ist Ehrenpräsident von Skiareatest – lobte die Leidenschaft und Innovationskraft der Branche.

PIZOLBAHNEN RECEIVES SWISSTAINABLE LABEL FROM SWITZERLAND TOURISM
Switzerland Tourism's sustainability program Swisstainable provides orientation for vacationers in Switzerland. Based on a criteria grid, tourism offers are inventoried and awarded with a three-level signet. Level III establishments have a comprehensive, recognized sustainability record that covers all dimensions of sustainability and is regularly externally audited. Level II operations are committed to sustainable corporate management and ongoing development in sustainability. In addition, they have recognized proof in at least one sustainability dimension. Pizolbahnen AG achieved Level II, engaged.
For years, the Pizolbahnen have been working on an energy efficiency path agreed with the federal government and have exceeded this every year. In addition, the Pizolbahnen are committed to sustainable climate protection with myClimate and Cause we care. Many projects have been developed on the Pizol in this regard. For example, light bulbs are constantly being replaced with LED lamps, the drive and control systems of three lifts are being replaced with more energy-efficient ones, and the company also produces its own electricity using a wind turbine.
