Nature is very close to the heart of Pizolbahnen and so responsible, caring and sustainable action is very important to us. Together with our partner myclimate, we are committed to a careful and sustainable approach to nature and the environment as part of the cause we care initiative.

Cause we care - working together for climate protection and sustainability

The careful use of resources to protect the environment is important to us. You can support us in this: As part of the myclimate "Cause We Care" initiative, we give you the opportunity to make an effective contribution to climate protection and sustainability together with us by making a voluntary contribution.

With CHF 0.50 per cable car ticket and CHF 5.00 on the annual or season pass, you support our sustainability measures and offset the CO2 emissions of your mountain experience. In return, we promise to double the contribution. Part of the sum will be used to support high-quality international carbon offset projects run by the myclimate foundation. The remaining amount will be invested by us in sustainability measures on site or in operational sustainability. You can also make a contribution by eating the delicious Green Burger or buying gift vouchers and the multifunctional scarf from the fan store.

Environmental measures for the Pizolbahnen

Environmental measures implemented to date include

Training project for children (nature workshop)
Annual "clearing days" with ski clubs and schools to clean the alpine area
Energy efficiency measures in operation, e.g. replacement of light sources with LEDs
Heat exchangers on the gondola lift drives for energy use in restaurants
Replacing hotplates in the catering industry
Electric charging station at the Bad Ragaz valley station
Increased energy efficiency by converting the control systems and drives on all older chairlifts
Environmental construction supervision for new buildings
Decision in favor of an energy-efficient snowmaking system with lances (Snowmaking 4.0)
Replacement of old snow-making equipment with energy-efficient types
Employee training on energy efficiency measures
Automatic demand-based operation of the systems
ECO Drive course for snow groomer operators
Replacement of snow groomers with exhaust gas purification systems
Green Mountain Burger offer at the Panoramarestaurant Edelweiss. When you consume a Green Mountain Burger, CHF 1 per burger goes into the Account fund.
