Tip 1: If you don't want to take on the long and sometimes steep descent, you can take the chairlift from Laufböden back to the starting point in Pardiel.
Tip 2: If you don't want to walk the additional loop via Suntigweidsee, go directly to Pardiel.
Tour description
We take the cable car from Bad Ragaz to the starting point in Pardiel. Here we walk via Obersäss and the Schwarzbüel viewpoint to the Schwarzbüelhütte. From here we take a left to Vilterser Obersäss, which we reach via a varied trail through forest, moorland and rough vegetation. We walk uphill to the Vilterser Seeli and at the end of the lake towards the Pizolhütte. We follow this mountain trail to Wangsersee.
The lake invites you to cool off before continuing along the high trail to Laufbodenstübli. Here we reach the highest point of our tour at 2,223 m above sea level and continue steadily downhill along a long forest path to above Pardiel. As soon as we see the first edelweiss-shaped information boards, we follow them uphill until we reach the Suntigweidsee lake. Here we can relax in the beach chairs and enjoy the fantastic panorama. Finally, we make a short descent via Obersäss back to Pardiel. We take the gondola lift to Bad Ragaz.
