Peter's LONG Trail

Tour description

We take the gondola lift from Wangs to Furt. There we walk towards Wasserwald and then follow the zig-zag trail to Fürggli. The rest of the way to Garmil leads across an alpine meadow. Once we reach Garmil, we enjoy the fantastic view before following a varied mountain trail to the old Alp Gaffia. Here we start the 5-lake hike in the opposite direction. A challenging, varied and well-known tour takes us past an impressive Steinmandlifeld, Baschalvasee, Schwarzsee, Schottensee and Wildsee to the intermediate destination of Wildseeluggen at 2,493 m above sea level.

The view of the Pizol Glacier and the surrounding mountains makes up for the exertions. We reach the last of the five lakes by walking downhill towards the Pizolhütte after the Wildseeluggen. Shortly after the Pizolhütte, Lake Wangsersee awaits on the right. Our route now leads us further down the valley towards Furt. On forest and hiking trails, we walk past Alp Gaffia, which we have already crossed once on the ascent, and then back to the starting point at Furt. From here we take the cable car to Wangs.

This trail is only suitable for experienced mountain runners.
