A touching moment

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, something special came to a worthy conclusion on the Pizol: the ceremonial inauguration of the new low-water area at the reservoir, lovingly staged in the midst of the majestic mountain landscape. For the "Pizol with Heart" foundation, this was the final step in an inspiring journey that began over a decade ago.

There was palpable emotion among the invited guests. Markus Oppliger, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pizolbahnen AG, and Elisa Lenherr recalled the legacy of Roman Lenherr (blessed), who, together with his wife, had the vision of strengthening the Pizol as a summer destination. Projects such as the Heidi Trail and the Panorama High Trail were born out of this vision - and now, with the new low-water area, the final chapter of this success story has been opened.

In the festive atmosphere, surrounded by the tranquillity of nature, Elisa Lenherr spoke movingly about the significance of the day. Nature is not only protected here, but also made accessible in a gentle way.

The new low-water area invites visitors to play and linger with natural elements such as a wooden raft and a barefoot path. The extended panoramic high-altitude trail and large wooden benches create additional recreational areas amidst the breathtaking mountain scenery. The new offer is intended to slow visitors down and bring them closer to the tranquillity of majestic nature.

The inauguration of this place marks the end of an era, but also the beginning of something lasting: A place of tranquillity, created out of love for nature - for present and future generations.
